Can I still send the fax documents when the recipient is offline ...

Question: Can I still send the fax documents when the recipient is offline?
I just want to make sure that the fax documents that I want to send will be delivered without a problem.

No, it won?t even pass.

When you say offline you mean their fax machine is off right?
You can call them to make sure the fax is on, and then call to confirm they got it.

In a traditional way, you cannot send fax documents if their fax machines are offline. Today, the evolution of web based faxing makes it possible to send fax documents even the recipient is offline.

Hi Dwight,

I think you might be referring to them having an online fax and their computer being offline?
If you are, no sweat. The fax will be delivered to their email no problem.

If they have a fax modem and are trying to receive your fax to their computer, that is another story. It will really depend on their configuration and the software that they are using.

Often times people that are using a fax modem share the same line with their telephone. The detection as to whether the incoming call is a phone or a fax is handled by a. the computer or b. an external switching box.

If the switching in this case is handled by the computer, then no?they would not get the fax.

If you are getting a long high pitched tone when you are dialing their number, chances are pretty good they will get the fax at some point.

No, you can?t.

You cannot send a fax to a fax machine that is disconnected, offline or deactivated. But with an internet fax service the recipient will surely any fax you will send them.

What do you think? Answer below please!
