Cain to decide whether to drop out by Monday (Politico)

On Sean Hannity's Fox News show tonight, Herman Cain said he's going to make a decision by Monday about whether to keep going in the 2012 campaign or drop out - but repeatedly mentioned the toll this is taking on his family.

Cain acknowledged his wife was hurt that she hadn't known he had been financially helping Ginger White, whose existence she also wasn't aware of in her husband's life until the affair claims broke this week.

Of Gloria Cain, he conceded, "She was hurt that she didn?t know about this friend that I was helping financially. She was aware of many of the other friends that I have helped. There have been a male friend that I have helped that she didn?t know about because it wasn?t a big deal. I wasn?t intentionally trying to keep it from her. And so yes, but, I have talked to my wife and I have been totally honest with her. She has forgiven me and she loves me. She?s ready to move on, its just that the media isn?t ready to move on, which is why we have to re-assess this. The discussions between my wife and I, those are coming along fine."
Cain told Hannity, "I'm going to make a decision before Monday. Now, before Monday, and we haven?t worked out the logistics yet. The decision could be, were going to continue with this campaign full speed ahead. The decision could be that were going to suspend the campaign. That ?s why I?m doing the re-assessment"

When Hannity pushed with questions, Cain replied, "Sean, do me a favor, lets not play detective. Here's the deal. I am going to prove that I am going to re-establish my character, okay? We are working on that. My attorney is working on that. We are going to work on that. But I don?t want to play detective right now, with all due respect, okay? Because I want to do the assessment that we got to do. Every time a new bit of information comes up, that stipulates another story in the media, and that hurts my family and my wife, and that hurts me."
